I just did a 700 mile round trip run with my 2wd V-10, with a 20' car trailer loaded car(7000lbs).I can see why you guys with the heavy campers want the rear swaybar......didn't really find the need for it with this load but I may still find one just in case.Truck felt great and didn't know the trailer was back there for the most part. The question I have is does anyone make a steering damper for 2wd?Before all the check the front end questions start everything is new and just aligned......and yes the steering box is tight.
Edit.....I would also like to know if a tuner is worth it for towing? Will it help with mileage or just kill it due to having to run higher octane?
Tuners will help with tranny tuning while towing. You don't need to run the 92 program.
Do a search for 2wd steering dampner and you'll find a link for a custom built one made by a member here. Many of us have one, myself included, and will attest to the quality and positive results.
U really wont tell the diff in power, but it will help u alot with ur shifts! But off course, u could accomplish that with a valve body and it would prob be cheaper.
