Could someone with a late 70's 351m/400 go and check what the part number is on the idle vacuum valve on their engine? It should be between the air bypass valve and the egr valve in back of the carb. Has on port coming out side, other coming out top, and backside has four little holes. This is the last part I need for smog and cant seem to find it. Thanks
The part number for the '79 400 truck IVV (or EGR Control Valve) is D8TZ-9D473-B or D3OZ-9D473-A. The D3OZ part is obsolete, but the D8TZ is still available from Ford (for $64, ouch!).
Apparently, there are two different versions of the D8TZ part, so you need to look for the numbers on your existing part (if you have one now), either D8TE-B1A or D8TE-B2A. Any dealer should be able to get the part for you if you give them one of those numbers.
