I have a 72 mustang mach 1 that i had painted about 6 years ago. its all one color, I want to have the side stripes and trunk stripes put back on here in spring which are a pinstripe or a sticker, if you will. The original mach 1s had a large portion of the hood painted flat black though. How hard or expensive would it be to have that done over my existing paint?
Cool thanks, yea I was not planning on a clear coat over the black. SO this might not be too spendy for a paint shop to do? I suppose I would need to be careful washing that area then? or does the flat black stick pretty well?

You can use a base coat clear coat system on the black, it's very durable and there's no problem washing it. PPG has a clear coat (DCU 2060) that is flat, but it's pretty expensive, there's also other paint companies that offer the flat clear coat. Just go to their websites and check it out.
