92 ranger 4x4

I'm looking at a 1992 Ranger 4x4.
What should I be looking at in the way of potential problems?
This will be my first 4x4, and I know next to nothing about them.

When buying any truck that old you could have a boat load of problems, or not many at all, it's all a gamble. The powertrains are pretty sturdy as are the bodies, but time and mileage will take it's toll. Drive it, put it through it's paces, if it seems allright, it probobly is. That doesn't mean something won't break on it tomarrow or a part has worn out. You could drive it for 2 years without any issue's. The law of averages says old truck = repairs unless it's been restored or something. It is 16 years old now. I wouldn't be afraid to buy an old ford truck for work or play, but I don't think I would buy one if I had to drive 150 miles a day. I believe I would go with something newer for that. For hunting, fishing, camping, hauling firewood, rocks or soil, or driving 15-20 miles to work oneway, it should be fine as long as it runs good.
