Ive had an 89 bronco since i was a freshman. now im a junior and on my way to collage. i kinda want a ranger. ive always liked these trucks and i was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions as to the year that you guys like. also what should i expect to pay?? any help would be appreciate. thanks.
Personally, I like the old front suspension like the one under mine, which I think was changed after 96. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck trying to find a 4x4 Ranger SCab with a 5-speed manual and a 4.0L though if that's what you want. I looked a bit over 4 months for it and only seen one in the used ads, called on her and was sold the day the same day it hit the ads. You might have better luck in NE?
I just traded in my 94 Ranger super-cab 4.0L 5speed 4x4. It is at a dealer in Penn Hills, PA Had 128,000 miles on it.
I loved the truck, but need to get something with real backs seats. I would buy another one in a heart beat. I've had 4 Rangers of that last 10 years. I like the 95-97s the best.
Thanks guys. i would like the ext cab with the five speed. what kinda miles u guys get? i kinda like the forth gen rangers. think that would make a good collage car?
After a good tune up I was getting about 14 MPG city. I live where there is a lot of hills. I would stay away from the pre mid 90 4 cyl. I had one for a month. It would not go over 55 on the highway. HATED IT. They make good little zoomers. That 94 I had. I used that for 4 year as I drove to and from school.
In the summer I get up to 22mpg/hwy and around 18 city, but I'm not a lead foot by no means unless I get tempted into it by some bowtie lover. Winter mpg drops to around 18-20mpg/hwy and 15 or so city.

Yup that's usually how it works for me! After I get/buy "close" to what I wanted, what I really wanted shows up. You should have sold it privately you would have gotten much more for it and made someone else like me happy.
