M50D Shifter problems!!
Hello my name is rick and i have a 1995 ford f150 with a m50d. the last owner used a hose clamp to hold the pins in, which i have not removed. After 3 months, the dealership told me i cannot buy a new top plate , supposedly they do not offer parts for the m50d any more. my problem is that first and second slider moves forward and backward but 1st and 2nd won't engage. I have unbolted the top plate but i did not remove it yet. Tranny guy at the dealership said maybe some "pins" slipped out of place due to loosening of the shifter and possibly i can fix it simply by removing the top plate. Any comments? i will fix this myself if its not too difficult!
