33x12.5x15 super swampers?

Can anyone convert 33x12.5x15 for me? I know that 33 is curconfrence and 12.5 is the width and 15 is the rim size but how does it convert to say 195/70/15? I found these super swampers in the paper for $100 and he says that they half 50% tread left. Will they even fit the stock rim? They might be fun to have on for awhile.

I got the SD leaf springs on yesterday and with the 2 1/2 in block brought the rear up 4in. I have a friend checking on getting a fab-tech lift for the front at cost right now. If I can get it without the shocks I want to get some beilstiens(I can't spell). Is a 4 1/2 in SD block going to give me to much axle warp or will it be ok with the SD springs and a spring shim? I might go ahead with the 6 in lift since I am getting a good price and can add a larger block in the rear.

Thanks all for any suggestions.

I have run the Interco Super Swamper TSL's on a few of my Jeeps, I can tell you that if they are used , they are more than likely no where near ROUND,they are really noisy, heavy, and will rattle your teeth until they warm up. these tires are great for the woods, but they are terrible on the street. They do look cool and when properly deflated get amazing traction on all kinds of terain. If you have a spare set of rims, I would try them if the price is right, but it does not take long before the cool looks become unimportant compared to all of the ugly realities of a half worn out bias ply MUD tire.

Those tires wont fit ur stock rims. For example, u said 195/70/15. Inorder to fit, u would need a 195/75/16

If I'm correct (please correct if I'm not, its not unlikely ),

the 'normal' tire size is:

(tread width mm) / (sidewall height as a % of tread width)R(Rim diameter in)

flotation tires are :
(tire height in )tread width in)X(rim diameter in)

SO:
to go from flotation to regular:

•rims are the same.
•Multiply tread width by 25.4 to get it in mm
•take the tire height subtract the rim diameter and divide by 2. Then take this number and divide it by the tread width and multiply by 100 to get the ratio of sidewall to tread in percent

To go from regular to flotation:
•rims are the same
•divide tread width by 25.4 to get inches
•Multiply tread width in inches by the second number to get the sidewall height in inches

That should be right if I can remember my tires, I hope it helps

Isaac

Flotation tire?

The difference is 195 is a metric number and the other is standard.

12.5 width in inches is equivalent to 315mm
Rim diameter is constant, no metric there. All tires(for most part) have rim diameter measured in inches.

33 is not circumference, 33 is tire height in inches. You need all the numbers to figure it out the other way. 195/70/15 converts by taking 70% of 195 (195 x .70) for sidewall height which is 136.5 divided by 25.4 (mm per inch) to get 5.37. That means you have a 5.37 inch sidewall. Vertically(line from bottom to top), you have 2 sidewalls and a rim diameter so add 15 inches plus 5.37 inches and 5.37 inches and a 195/70/15 = 25.7 inch tire. Excursions come with 265/75/16 which is equivalent to a 31.6 inch tire.

Hope this helped

the size is one thing, the tire itself is another...the SS are a good tire for offroading in a lighter vehicle, I've run them and some friends have in rockcrawler samurais, they are a good tired for that...the X will wear them down in no time, the compound is too soft for the x though and you'll be on the wear bars in no time....

Hybrids; my stock rims are 16's I was just useing that as an example. I plan on buying a set of BF goodwrench A/T 295/75/R16 all the way around but I thougth the SS would be a fun tire to have in the garage and look for a set of spare rims to put them on.

That is alot of math but I see how it works now I believe they would fit I think they are just going to be to wide though for much of a turning radius.

Anyway thanks for the break down I didn't even think about how fast they would wear down on the X that is alot of wieght on a soft tire.
