radiator question

I have a 1964 F250, engine 223 3.7L. Need to find replacement radiator. Can I use a 1966 or 1967 F250 six cyl radiator? If so, does anyone have one in the Seattle area for sale? Or recommendations where to obtain one?

Thanks!

Todd

Welcome to FTE

C5TZ-8005-AC .. Radiator

Fits: 1964 F100/250 (I-6: 223 & 262); 1965/66 F100/350 (I-6: 240/300).

A radiator shop can recore your old radiator.

According to Hollander Interchange manual, the radiators are interchangeable thru 79, they come in different widths, thickness, and lengths. Also, and most inportant, there are front vs rear mount radiators and you want to make sure the replacement matches your support. As numbers suggested, it may be easier to recore original radiator.

Something else to consider...the diameter of the radiator necks can be larger or smaller. It depends on the application.

1961/64 F100/350 223 = the upper neck is 1 1/2" / the lower neck is 1 3/4"

1965/67 F100/350 352's are 2" and 2"

1968/76 F100/350 360/390's are 1 3/4" and 2"

1977/79 F100/350 are 1 1/2" or 1/3/4" and 2"

Not ONE of the above radiators match what Hollander sez.

I don't know much about south of Everett but Marysville has a new pyp. Larrys auto and truck parts is a recycler in Burlington who has a lot of remanufactured radiators.
If you can't find a new one than I'd go with getting the original recored. jmo. You have a better chance of them honoring a warranty at a reputable than at the junkyard.

I purchased a new radiator for my 66 from Napa. It wasn't exactly like what was in there, but it bolted up fine, and with a piece of flexible hose, everything works perfectly.
