i have a 1993 f-150 extended cab with the 300 straight 6. i am intrested in buying clifford performance headers and flowmaster 50 series and would like to know if this is a good concept and if it will sound good. many people have told me that it would sound good and many have told me that it has not.
thank you,

I like you want to put headers on my 94 F150 6er too. From what I have been able to find out is get a pair of Clifford Performance headers. I got part# 53-0016, which are hearders with Smog hookups(all the emission stuff). Run both headers into a 3" exhaust pipe, via a Y collector pipe. Through a 3" high flow catalytic converter and then on out to the end of the bed. Apparently this will keep your low end rpm torque but still give you some top end power. If you do this you will be combining a total of 3.5"s into a 3" pipe. You will still have the backpressure you need. I am in the process of talking to Clifford Performance for more info on this. I let you know what I find out!!!!
Exhaust sound is something that varies from person to person. I had a 95 with stock manifolds, Walker downpipe, 1 high flow cat, back to a flow pro muffler and y'ed out with slash cut 3"x18" chrome tips. Great rumble at idle and loud with the go pedal.
