99 Exp - Front AC issue - Blend door?
my 99 expy refuses to cool, and it no very good with heat either.
in the summer, when I turn on the AC, it might start cooling, and cooling very well, but then you hear something switch inside, and the car starts blowing heated air (or just outside air, since when we turn the AC on it is usually baking outside).
There is no effect on the 2nd or 3rd row air - that blows nice and cold.
Is this the blend door issues I keep reading about in threads like this one? :

It sounds like you might have that problem. The first thing to check just to be safe if you have the manual hvac system is the temp control ****. I have seen them crack where it pushes on to the shaft and you can turn all day long and not get it to do anything but slip on the shaft. Otherwise it may be the actuator motor or the reostat (also if manual hvac). That being said the most common problem is the blend door.
