Exclamation 1994 F-150 tranny problem

I am having a problem with my 1994 F-150 (4X4) transmission.

The thing intermittently slips out of gear as you go down the road. It has also caused the fuel mileage to decrease by a great amount. It also shifts hard after every episode.

I have had the MLPS changed twice and the solenoid packs on the inside have been changed. All to no avail. I have heard that there is a grounding problem that can be causing this. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be and how I can fix it? As always it never exhibits the problem when it is at the shop. All of the diagnostics come back fine when the problem is not happening. This is a gremlin that has found a good place to hide!

Just wondering if you found/fixed the problem. I am going through the same issue.

Thanks. I think I will try spicing in a ground this weekend. I just want to be sure it is on the correct wire.

I had a mechanic change the mlps and add a second ground wire. It did nothing. I did get the truck to experience the jumping to neutral alot less often by changing the speed sensor on the rear end. It went several weeks without doing it but does it now mainly after I get on a wet road or go through a puddle. Maybe that will help a little. If you find a solution I'd really appreciate it if you'd let me know. Good luck.
