What I was implying, bf, is that the writer doesn't get that statistically in the U.S., MORE GUNS = LESS CRIME, and is probably true elsewhere in the world as well. When citizens don't have their right to bear (carry) arms, they don't become victims of criminals who don't care what a law is.
Also, many of the worst "ghetto" areas of the U.S. fall under strict anti-carry laws: L.A., Chicago, NYC, Philadelphia, Cleveland, D.C., etc.
Those that aren't under those anti-carry laws are generally just overwhelmed by illegal immigrants involved in gangs and drugs and have a liberal judicial system that doesn't enforce the laws that are on the books.
