KTP & Google Earth

Found it pretty interesting when I found the Kentucky Truck Plant on Google Earth. Man that place is huge!

The address for the plant is: 3001 CHAMBERLAIN LN., LOUISVILLE, KY if anyone wants to take a look.

Lots of Google Map images are very old. Only the highly trafficed areas are more up to date. It looks like that shot was taken quite a while ago.

ditto to what I've found. Try Maquest and look at their Aerial View -- I've found them to be years newer...

The google earth aerial was taken back on 04-15-02. That place is huge though.

When i look it up it shows a being taken in 2007. I aslo happen to live next door to the Kansas City Plant where the F-150 is built.

I'm not 100% but I think I see a yellow Amarillo SuperDuty in one of the lots. Weren't they only available in 2005?

When you have Google Earth open there is a category on near the bottom left called layers. Scroll all the way down and check the box named DigitalGlobe Coverage and that will then show a bunch of boxes that will say the date that that picture was taken.

I dunno about Google Earth, but the aerial images of the town I live in, on both Mapquest and Google Maps, are horribly out of date. Both of them have images that are right around 5 years old and they are missing tons of development that has taken place in the last several years.

Don't count on the Google dates. My acreage picture which claims to have been taken in March 2007 doesn't even have snow on the ground. Infact you can see were I was cutting grass. I would put it around August or Setember 2006 when you look at the harvest underway.
