C-6 don't shift
I have a 1977 Ford F-150 4x4 351M with a C-6.I started having a problem today.My trucks RPM goes to like 3500,but still stays in first gear.I have to completely let off the gas for it to shift.My truck usually shifts at 2000 rpm,but now it won't shift until I let off.I don't want to go higher than 3500rpm so I don't even know if it will eventually shift for the matter.Somepeople said a modulator will cause this,but this is how the problem started.I wanted to be a showoff while I was giving a Chevy boy a ride so before I got to his house I gunned it,and it went into a lower gear,because it hit the kickdown.I thought that's what a kickdown was for,but apparently it ain't because on my way home thats when I noticed it didn't shift.The kickdown rod isnt stuck anywhere.Really all the little things have been checked.Could it still be the modulator or did the damage go a little deeper.Oh yeah after it shifts and you get back on the gas it will down shift cause the engine to rev to like 3500rmp.I swear its like driving a stick shift except no clutch.

Ok your vacuum line to your modulator has either a large hole or has come unlplugged from the modulator or your modulator completly gave up the ghost. I'd put large amounts of money on a modulator or vacuum line going to it.
