Power locks driver side Stopped locking...
Hello People,
Here is the story….

I get in my truck (Have to unlock it of course) drive 10 KMS get out. Go to lock it and notice my driver side door does not lock.

Keypad works for all the other doors, inside switches work no problem as well as the keyless remote (pressed twice)…. I have to manually lock the drivers door which is driving me mad.

I’ve read about some bad wires, how do I know what one is bad??

Also, can I try to fix this without removing door panels??

On my 97 Explorer there was a aluminum pop rivet that you could see from the out side. It had fallen out. (look at the othere door) Its job is to hold the solenoid in position. When trying to lock the door it made all the right sounds but never locked as it was just flopping around inside.
You do need to remove the door panel to fix this. I set of small hands will help you get a small nut and bolt in place.
