Look at my gallery and let me know if i got a good trade.
I traded my brother for some old rims that were worth about $200.
Thanks, your newest happiest member Jeff
I've looked at 1000's of mid 1960's Ford trucks, when they were new, used and in boneyards.
But I've never seen anything quite like this one!
That is one unique dump body...a real surprise, because it's the stock pickup bed = modified.
Is it Factory? It has the 6 digit DSO number, and Ford had to do something. My guess is Ford sent this out to be converted. Look for a name, ID plate, something for that Dump System.
That's the original radio, too...and the dash hasn't been hacked to death = A Mazing.
Your brother have anything else he'd like to trade?
btw = YOU STOLE IT!!!...

For discussion purposes only, Bill how many things could that truck have on it that would cause a DSO to be associated with the truck?
We know Ford didn't offer the dump pickup in it's line up, and the owner or owner(s) along the way could have added it himself or hired it done in the 40+ years that the truck has been on the streets.
STOP!!! THIEF!!!!! Seriously nice score. I've got alot of stuff that I don't want, does your brother want to do some more trading? I am sooooo jealous. That really is cool with the dump bed. Congratulations. Now just get it fixed up and make your brother feel bad for trading.

The DSO is 341246 = a Domestic Special Order.
The VIN was decoded elsewhere by myself and a faster typing FTE member.
The codes don't show anything that wasn't available with the truck, in other words, everything on this vehicle is standard, nothing that would require something at extra cost = except that body mod..
What was done? After assembly, the truck was sent out by Ford to a local body maker, they modified the truck. When finished, the truck was shipped to the original selling dealer.
Ford did offer dump bodies, once..but not like this truck has. I decoded a VIN on a 1963 F250 with a dump body. The rear of the body had the Ford script on it. There are several other dump trucks in member galleries, one is an F600 with a factory dump body. Once again, there's that Ford script. I decoded that FTE members VIN, also. The Ford script bodies (platform, platform and rack, dump) were used from Model T days thru at least 1972. After that date, I'm not sure, because the F600 and larger trucks are in different parts catalogs. I don't have them, because there isn't enough demand here on FTE for me to warrant spending $$$ to buy them.

All this talk about the truck. Am I the only one that noticed his lady friend is not only gorgeous but also willing to grab the rags and Simple Green cleaner? I'm wondering just how old some of you guys are!

What did you think I meant when I said he was very blessed? I was trying not to be too obvious...

Lol one of the reasons i got the truck that way was because he didnt have a title. so i went to the dmv and found the last title holder and had him sign a piece of paper saying i could have a new title made in my name. it was quick and painless but it did cost me about $250 after i got the title and custom license's plate "64 dump" so now i think he is regretting it already!!!
Very nice steal. Even if you do nothing more then keep the truck tuned you will make a killing with the dump bed delivering small loads for people.
it is very handy. I've already made about 20 trips out at our campground with logs and about 20 trips with some brush that had fallen down! I have a brand new vehicle in my driveway that doesn't get any attention now that i got this!!!
