Anyway, I love this truck, very cool lines, with style. going to keep it as stock as possable also. after a little reading will post pix. once I fig out how. Just fig would be let ya'll know I'm looking around and Will be asking some goofy at times questions. Thanks knuck
knuck, welcome to the site.
As mentioned, the pre '47 trucks did not use the F series, that was a '48 and later thing. The 1/2 ton was called Light Duty or Commercial, the 1 ton was sometimes called a Tonner, and the bigger trucks were referred to as Heavy Duty.
Sounds like you have a bigger truck. The 1/2 tons used a 10 leaf spring pack. POst up the wheelbase and or wheel size and we'd know for sure.
1/2 ton used a 16" wheel, 1 ton used a 17" and bigger trucks used a 20"
1/2 ton has 114" W.B., 1 ton has 122" W.B. and bigger used 134 or 158 W.B.
Sounds like a fun project, great to see such enthusiasm.
