Question C6 to NP435 swap??'S

Well I tried to run the C6 I have behind my 460,and it didn't work out,and now I have a brand new NP435 I want to put in.I have a 351M/400 manual bellhousing,a 460 flywheel to match my 79 mill, and all the peddle's,and linkage's for clutch arm or z-bar.Im just not sure about the bellhousing fit? Will the 351M/400 Bellhousing work for this swap,or is there any hidden detail's I don't know. It's been a while since Ive posted.Ive been out beating the death out of what was left of my C6 in the 1979 Supercab 4X4 dually with the 460/C6/Np205 combo, and a D60 Frnt/D70 Rear. What a JOY to drive.Im like a little boy everytime I turn the key.I also got a Ford logo tattoo on my arm last week.It look's sweet!

Ive been hearing somthing about useing a 390 flywheel, and a 3/16 plate between motor, and tranny becuase of the offset of the 351m/400 bellhousing?I have a 79 460ci. and need the counter weight on the 79 flywheel. The 390 has a internal balance, and no counter weight.I wish I could get a little more info on this bellhousing issue?Thank's in advance.

ok you have a 460 flywheel from a truck ?as long as your not using any of the 360 390 parts you need not to worry..you have a m bell housing a flywheel froma 460 and the clutch and starter from the 460 or m get your pedals the motor is 79 then use the counterweight there is no difference in bells just the thickness of fly wheels. these swaps are so easy, a cave man can do it!

I haven't started becuase I found a bellhousing from a 460ci,and it's being shipped to me.I want to put the 2 bellhousing's (351M/400 & 429/460)next to each other, and do some messuring of the 2 to see the differance.I will detail list how it's going when I start it here in a few day's.Thanx for your help with this.

well the 460 mount wont go into the frame mount. so heres what you have to do! take the motor mount from the 460 the motor side, and take the m mount that went into the frame andcut them in half.........

I had a thought today as I begane to tear down the C6 Comblo out today, and after reading several post about 73-9's not having manual tranny's now I don't think my flywheel is correct becuase the casting # on the back of flywheel start's with D9TE-8083?How can I tell if my Flywheel is actually a 335 series, and not for the 385 series mill.I really want to make sure I have all the right part's.TYIA!
