TurnSignals

Wondering if anyone knows, my 52 is still 6 volt. Somewhere in the past a PO mounted turnsignals on the front and rear fenders. Can I eliminate these by wiring them to by tailights and parking lights? Do I need to change bulbs, sockets or what? My tailights are new in fact they are for 12 volt and I needed to replace the bulbs that came with them with six volt bulbs. I'd like to make this change and then remove these old turnsignals all the while keeping it 6 volt ....For now.

Thanks

You need to get dual element sockets and bulbs to use the original tail lights and the parking lights.
The sockets are usually press fit. I would suggest soldering the new sockets to the housing for a good connection.

After changing the parking and tail light sockets to accomodate dual filament bulbs you may find that the turn signals do not operate when brakes are applied. It depends on which turn signal switch you have. If you have a 7-wire switch they should work fine but if you have a 5-wire switch you will have to run separate brake and turn signal lights...
