do you know how much the scooter weighs? you could just put the front tire on the rack, grab the back of the scooter somewhere handy and let it roll on the rack. or take a board and maybe use it as a ramp.
Just pick it up and put it in the truck. I'd take out the tailgate so you can step up on the bumper and haul it in. I put a scooter in the back of my Ford Escort once. Nothing to it.
Maybe get a board and push or ride it into the back of the truck. When I was cutting grass for a living I use to use two long boards to push the riding mower in and out of the truck bed.
If your using the truck/ramp idea, pull off the tailgate and place the ramp so it rest on the bed floor. I watched a buddy put a wicked crease in his tailgate when he rode a motorcycle up a ramp into the bed. It bent it right down the middle, wouldn't close and he had to cut it in half to get it off the truck.

Just use your truck and a couple of 2x8 or 2x10s one to to push the bike up and the other to walk up beside it,I just did this with four motorcycles by myself, and if it runs it is even easier, just use the front brakes to keep it from rolling back as you push it up.
If I can do it anyone can do it as I am in pretty bad shape
