Question Door mirrors

Hi,

I am looking for a supplier of medium sized round door mirrors with a konvex shape of the mirror glass.
Actually I have mounted nice looking round chrome door mirrors on my 41 half-ton. They are approx 3" in diameter with a flat surface.
Yes they look nice, but while they may have been fine when John-Boy Walton was driving form the farm to the town, I can't barely see a thing in them.
With todays fast-moving dense traffic I prefer to know what is going on around and specially behind me.
Therefore I would like to get a set of bigger ( say 4" diameter) mirrors who have a convex shape ( to increase the sight angle) and that can be attached on the existing arms.
Yes ,they may be not so nice but a big dent in my cab or door shurely won't look nice too if I happen to overlook an overtaking car .

Any suggestions?

Gabby.

Did you get the Hinge Pin Chrome Mirrors, with the Swan Neck? If you did its no wonder that you can't see anything, I agree with you on the larger size but the Convex, my personal opinion on these is there, the cause of many accidents.
Although the convex is fine as a add-on to the regular mirror for what you mentioned.
Don't go stricly convex as a mirror, very hard to judge distance. I took the factory Convex off my daily driver and put in the Flat Mirror and added the 2 inch convex to the main mirrors.
I don't know what it is you are wanting to put these on, but I think that by the sounds of it, my first sentence seems like the ones.
Yes they look good, but not worth a Damm. If you had the proper mirrors you would like them a lot better.
As far as getting the large Convex type bolt ons, your nearest truck Stop handles just what you want.
Get them up to 10-12 inch if necessary.
