Looking for the right exhaust

I have a 2006 XLT S/C and looking for a performance cat-back exhaust. I thinking about Magnaflow Dual with exit in front of passenger rear tire. I am wondering about sound and performance. any suggestion. Or is there another system I may want to consider? Any suggestions would be appeciated.

Welcome to FTE. There are so many people who run so many different exhausts. Is there a certain sound you are looking for? You prefer duals? Is interior resonance an issue? Stainless or aluminized? I know a lot of guys run Magnaflow kits. They have issues with the dual kits out the back. I dont know what they offer for exit in front of the passenger. Duals certainly look nice, but just to let you know, a single 3" pipe will outflow and outperform a set of 2.5" duals. I personally run a Bassani kit on my 06. Check it out here: http://home.earthlink.net/~metalsped/bassani/

If you just use the search function in this forum, you will find a treasure trove of exhaust threads. Probably more information than you will have expected. Good luck in the search.

Exhausts

You might want to look at Gibson Exhaust. Well made, easy install and a good sound.

i recently installed the magnaflow 16612, SISO and i LOVE it !!! installation was a breeze, about 1 hour on my garage floor. uses all factory hanger locations. the sound is great, but a little quieter than i had expected. coupled with my edge programmer, it it a big difference. hope this helps !!!

I went with JBA. The way I figured it they make good headers so why wouldnt they make a decent cat-back. Sound is great and it looks stock except its a 3" pipe on exit of the flow through muffler I wish it was stainless. I did the install in the front yard without a jack just put the back tires on the curb but I would recommend a jack.

the magnaflow single in dual out kit it amazing. the 2004 and early 2005 guys had different trailer hitches though. the kit will have issues installing if you have that different hitch. if you have the new style hitch (looks like you do since you have a 2006), you'll have no issues

Here are some vids of my truck. I have the 16614 kit (SIDO) and a Volant CAI. Obviously, it doesn't sound as good as it does in person, but I think it comes fairly close.

From Stop to 45 MPH
From 20 MPH to 85 MPH
Burnout Vid
Little Low RPM OffRoading

btw, no exhaust droning at all...ever. It's loud when you goose it, but not audible at all going 60 MPH or faster

You should look for the left one as well... All kidding aside...I've got the Magnaflow single in dual out just like Tylus. However, because of the fit issues I'd probably go with the Gibson. Dosen't cost that much more, sounds just about the same and I haven't heard any fit complaints.
