up gradeing??????

well I own an IDI truck and I'm looking at the new 6.4L. I love my old ford but I have heard some bad stuff about these trucks.the big one is the flame out the tail pipe.I thought now way until I say one doit on the freeway last night.the dealership said it was an injector problem and is now been fixed.whats the deal?anybody have this happen?if ford keeps this up its time for another dodge.

If indeed you did see one do it, that would make a total of 4 trucks it has happened too. Very unlikely.

I do not think it would be able to do that at freeway speeds, If you watch the video when the guy rev's the engine it eventually blows out the flame but it comes back at idle again so I think you might have seen a.....IDK but I think it might of just been a fluke. If it was a new '08 6.4L and it did infact blow out a flame at freeway speeds he must have not had the ECM flash or something.

Not an injector problem its a issue in the Regeneration Tuning. Its allowing too much heat to build while cleaning out the dpf.......

I believe the reason that a 2 or 3 of the trucks blew flame was because of faulty injectors. They were leaking or had some blow by and during regen the excess fuel was ignited. The new flash just monitors the heat in the exhaust and if it gets excessive (such as blowing flame) it stops the regen process which will lower the exhaust temp.

I least that is what I have been able to find out. Again there were only 2 or 3 cases where this happened.
