Door jamb help

I am in need to some assistance. I have a car (don't worry...it's a Mercury so it's still a Ford brand ) that I'm fixing up. I bought it from an older lady who had a run in with a semi's trailer and banged up the passenger side doors and front fender. I have a donor car with all the parts to replace them with. I ran into an issue with the front passenger side door last weekend. It seems that when they met the door jamb/pillar got bent inward about 1/4 - 1/2 an inch. I have tried pulling it out but I am afraid of bending or breaking something else. I can't bolt the "new" door on until the door hinges line up again. Does anyone have an idea on how to straighten the door pillar out? I usually don't do body work so this is all new to me. Thanks in advance for your help.

You may need to get some professional help. They have hydraulic jacking systems that have the flexibiltiy and force to do the job, plus the knowledge necessary to avoid doing damage. Work like this can be done with a bottle jack and a lot of blocking, but it is probably best to have a pro do the part you cannot.

Is the part that is bent one of the windhield pillars? If the windshield is not broken, it may have to be removed to avoid breaking it during the jacking.

You really need to have the car looked at, if what you're saying is true, that car took a pretty good whack and it might have more problems than just your panel alignment issue. A Port - A - Power will be able to get it back straight, you can rent them at some tool rental places, if not Harbor Freight sells a cheap one that will work fine for what you need to do.
