I have the motor mounts off and blocked with 2x4's as/Haynes Man. And a jack under the transmission for lift. The exhaust pipe crosses over, so I loosened that up. The Pan is off and at the best deg. of tilt, the oil pan still woun't clear the bell housing by this much(........). The rear main seal leaks volumes. I suspect I'll have to change the bearing as well. and I'm not even sure if the seal is one piece or two. The Bronco is a hand me down for my son to drive to school. With high cost of Ins. and repair, I was hopping for an easy fix. This is a great board and having read many posts about broncos leaves me yearning to keep'er myself; Tyler may have ti walk to school. Any help will be apprieated Thanks Mike
I'm not really certain what your question is? But you need to raise the motor more obviously... may have to remove the upper intake if it hits the firewall. For the rear main you'll have to remove the tranny obviously, and you should be able to get a one piece rear main from the dealer.
chiltons says remove upper intake and throttle body and remove exhaust system remove transmission crossmember (support the trans) lower the pan onto the crossmember then remove the 2 bolts attaching the oil pump pickup tube to the oil pump remove the nut attaching the oil pump pickup tube to the No 3 main bearing cap stud lower the pickup tube and screen into the pan and the pan should slide out. Hope this helps.
