Welcome angrygalaxie, I'll try to help you the best I can here.

The VIN should actually read 71GC331687, which breaks down into a '47 1 ton 6 cylinder truck, which should have a wheelbase of 122".

Exactly what chassis specs do you need?

Gary, am I mistaken or is the 71GC a 1/2 ton (114" WB). From the info I have seen, there weren't many factory styles with a large wheel base such as the 199.6" (The school bus comes to mind). It is very possible that the '47 cab is on a more modern frame. Do you have any pictures. What type of front springs does the truck have coils or leaf? We likely will need more info to help you out with this. Did you get the VIN off the frame of the truck? It is very possible also that the frame was lengthened to make this change (the truck I bought had this done to it, to make a camper).

Charles

Whoops, Charles, you're correct there, yes, that is a 1/2 ton. My mistake there.
angrygalaxie, that certainly is not a 1/2 ton configuration you have there. The largest wheelbase that was available in the time period was 194" shcool bus chassis which would not have a 1/2 ton truck's VIN. Sounds like you have something that was put together with parts from another vehicle.
The axles from a 1.5 ton would not mount 16" wheels, only the 1/2 tons used 16" wheels, and used a smaller bolt pattern than the 1 ton and bigger trucks. Try to post some pictures in a gallery or someplace online and we'll try to help you figure out what you have.
