Ok i'm back once again. Heres the deal- Put freshened 302 roller engine in 93 bronco, new timing chain, aftermarket 35-349-8 comp cam, different valve springs, all new gaskets, torqued everything exactly to ford specs. By the way i bought the thing not running with a blown motor. Ok so after a lil bit of messing around with it once the engine is in i realized the origonal problem, a bad fuel pressure regulator diaphragm. This in turn pumped my entire engine full of at least 5 gallons of raw gas. I installed a new regulator, removed the plugs cranked it until no gas was spewing out of the plug holes. I put it all back together with some new oil and a filter and it starts right up no problem, with a lil smoke from the tail pipe. Ok so i continue messing with it for about 3 or 4 days after work and it starts up fine but after running a while it starts surging and dies. Finally i took it out to drive it around our big parking lot for a while and it started losing power fast and just died. I cranked it over for a while and it seemed like it wanted to start but just wouldn't. Ok so i pulled the plugs and they are wet and black with gas. I get some new ones thinking they were ruined when the engine flooded and replaced them. Tried to start it again and same deal wants to start but won't. WTF!!! I pulled the codes and koeo i get 21 and 24. Would either of these codes tell the computer to run too rich thus flooding the engine and not allowing it to start or what? I'm starting to get frustrated with this stinkin thing!!!! I'm starting to think it is getting almost too much fuel. I tried two different coils and no difference, tried changing the timing, plugs took the intake tubes off to get straight air into it but nothing seems to be helping. Where do i look to next? Sorry for the long winded post!
what is your fuel pressure at the rail? what is the timing set at? and did you set it with the spout disconnected, also double check your firing order it should be the same as a 5.8

timing is at 10* with spout disconnected, fuel pressure is at 38 psi, firing order iis the 137xxxxx order. The thing that gets me is it ran fine for like 4 days, then just died and now won't restart.
Well, i might have an idea. I noticed when it ran that the tube from the heads to the y pipe was in tact but i guess from running it, it broke off or fell off. I wonder if this would create a vacuume problem in the engine. I'd have to say that i know it ran with the tube on but once it died i noticed the tube was off. Maybe a coincidence or maybe the problem. I'll have to mess with it again tonight.
