Well the superdutys must be arriving yay lol in todays driving section Merlin ford is advertising the new 08 F-350s are here with a picture i went onto meritford.com even though its out of this area still in sask i just like too look at the new truck pics they got a red one and a f-450 with no pic
then i decided to play around and build one a F250 Supercab XLT short box 4x4 with most options not loaded for about 55k they are expensive wow the on at merit is like 64 and the f450 is like 70 something and the 6.4L diesel is a whopping 8k option add a 5spd torqueshift auto that tops it off at a 10,000 option for engine and tranny wow
But they sure are nice have to go check them out at the dealer just giving you guys a heads up
I saw one here in Regina in fall at agribition. Ford had a small display, but there was a '08 F-450 crew cab King Ranch there. WOW!!! What a nice Truck!!!!
But they sure are nice have to go check them out at the dealer just giving you guys a heads up
Sounds like a good plan ONCE it warms up abit.
We`ll have to take our tired iron for a cruise thru the PSD dealerships.
I can`t imagine starting up a diesel on a day like today just for a test drive.
With the 6.0 litre's track record of new calibration after new calibration, the poor reliability record, the fact that Ford and Navistar are in court right now (making guys leery of the 'spirit of cooperation' between the two companies in dealing with problems that may arise with the 6.4), and the fact that they jumped about $7000, I think there are lots of people leery of the new product.
The 7.3 is one tough cookie - tried, tested, and true. Dealer lots are starting to show high numbers of used 6.0's that are close to warranty expiration. (160000 kms). Lots of guys are leery about running the 6.0 without warranty protection because of their reliability record and the high cost of repairs on this engine.
How many kms on yours? Any problems so far? Mine has been an on going headache as have a couple of friends trucks! I am in the process of drafting a letter to Ford about how the truck has fallen far short of my expectations in terms of reliability, etc and how it has cost my business lost earnings.
I bought mine late last fall and only put on about 300 kms on it before parking it, I don`t really need it in the winter. I also have an old 71 F350 that`s in really nice shape if I need a 1 ton truck, most of the time I need my LN 8000 for Bobcat work.
From it`s history report the only warranty item was for an emblem paint peeling problem. It has 92,000kms/57,000 miles on it.
Waiting for the dang spring.....
my grandpa's 03, don't think its hit 100 000kms yet, but motorwise the truck has been just fine, the mileage is dissappointing compared the our 02 7.3. the rest of the truck, however, has fallen apart. they have put 4 diffrent steering box's on it, and it still doesnt steer right. they wont replace the pump though, they say it can't possibly be that. theres some sort of demon in the dash as well. but like said, compared to other 6.0's around here, the motor has been flawless. still wouldnt take it over the 7.3 though...hehe

How many kms on your`s and how many/what problems did you have?
Heres a thread on the 6.0 that will cheer you up except the 03`s do have alot more problems though. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...-that-bad.html
How many kms on your`s and how many/what problems did you have?
I have 133000 kms and not enough time to list everything! I will one day when I get my complete service record on my truck for the demand letter I write to Ford.
except the 03`s do have alot more problems though.
I am not sure on that one - a few guys w/06 and 07 having some newer problems that I never did. I talked to my tech about it - the older trucks have, for the most part, more miles. I am currently looking for something different because I will not (because I cant afford it) run this truck w/o warranty. Most likely will end up w/ Duramax. My brother has an 05 and we work side by side. His makes my reliability look like a joke!
Yeah i think 03-04 were the absolute worst for the 6.0 when you go to the diesel forums they talk a lot about this 92k eh Fom well your just gettting er broke in if you dont drive it in winter that makes a huge difference like every so often should last quite a long time i think by 05 06 the 6.0 problems were pretty much worked out only reason they had so many cause ford had to meet a deadline or something and the just slapped together the 6.0
