Early Ford front end

My first post here for my first project. Need help.
I have a 37 Ford pickup and am having trouble getting the front wishbone separated from the front axle. Seems the perch bolts(?)are either rusted frozen or pressed in and I can't get them out. When I got the nuts off of the bottom of the perch bolts the threads got messed up so now I must replace them. After about a quart of CRC and some hammer work I tried a little heat with a propane torch on the perch boss but that didn't work. I didn't want to risk screwing up the whole front axle by heating to red hot with acetylene yet. This is a budget project so I want to re-use most of the front end components rather than go to a Mustang II front end. I plan on converting to disc brakes up front and restoring the rest of the front end. Will split the wishbone to fit a GM 400 turbo. Any suggestions would really be appreciated.

I had a '40 coupe but I sold it before I could get started. The offer was too good. Good luck on your truck.

Mike, I was doing some surfing looking for 40 Pickup stuff and I found this really good site that has an excellent article on splitting wishbones on a '37 P/U. Try this site and see if this is what you want. http://homepage.mac.com/bdrake/1937pu/index.html Hope all works out well for you. C U AL
