Does anyone have a picture of the original brake pedal, linkage, master cylinder with some sort of reference demensions? Just starting to build a power brake setup for my pickup and was looking for measurements of the original so that I could some what locate it in the same place. Also, would anyone have a picture of the body mounts or the approximate size (diameter X thickness)or a Vendor that sells them. Thanks for your assistance, C U AL.
Steve's working out of town & will be back Friday eve. He should be able to help you since he took ours apart from soup to nuts. I've taken pictures of all the coming apart steps so maybe he'll be able to find a good one of what you're looking for. I'll try & get him to give you a response sometime over the weekend.
Thanks Carlene, very much appreciated. I took Steve's advice and decided on the Cobra engine, going to put the motor and trans in tonight as we finally got some sunshine and no more rain and snow. SNOW, YOU SAY!!! Had a snow storm two days ago, rain came along and washed it away. Tough sledding, but we'll get 'er done. Thanks again, look forward to Steve's post. C U AL.
Hi there, I found that a cheap and cheerfull power brake set up from a mid 80s mazda pick up works well with the original pedal assembly. Remove the original ford master cylinder, and make a template from its mounting base. The mazda servo is about 7 inches in dia. with a dual circuit mastercylinder attached. It comes atached to a long extension tube. Chop the tube down to your required length weld on a mounting face fabricated from the template and bolt it straight onto the original 3 bolt cast mounting/ pedal assembly. The actuating rod will line up with the original pedal pushrod mounting.. fabricate a small angle support bracket to prevent the unit flexing under braking. This bracket is fitted to the original servo/ cylinder arrangement and can be modified to suit. you can mail me for pics and info redoxide(No Email Addresses In Posts!)
