47 1/2 and 47 3/4 ton pu

Does anyone happen to know if there are any body differences between a 1/2 ton and a 3/4. And would the body parts be interchangeable. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank YOu

Hi Ron Im Ron also. I have a 47 1/2 ton. The only diffirence to my knowledge would possibly be that the wheel wells are cut out larger for bigger tires. That may be however for the 1 ton chassis.Everything should interchange. Mine is a 6 cylinder with 3 speed on floor. Was my Grandfathers since new and then my Dads. Now I have it and is in limbo for resto.Im located in se PA.There is a guy here in Phoenixville that seems to be heavily involved with this model. If I can find his name I will send it to you.

I also have a doubt on '47 pu. I just happen to have a 1947 pu here in S. Paulo, Brazil. The body is basically original. Power train has been changed to a V8 from the old Galaxie produced here between 1973-83. My question relates to rear end of the pu, i.e., whether bumpers were used as original equipment and what kind of back lighting was there. Other is the cab interior finishing and colors. I need to have new upholstering and catalogs, at least the ones I have, are either b&w or not clear at all. Photos are available if you wish.

Regards,

A. L. D'Auria

Hope you get this. The 1/2 ton and 3/4-1Ton trucks had the same body. I know because I bought a 1 ton '47 and put the cab and front fenders, grille, etc.. on a spare '46 1/2 ton chassis I had. Recenlty replaced the '47 front end with a rust free one off a 1/2 ton. Fit perfectly, all body parts will interchange.
