Okay, got a question about an option. Does anybody know what the optional heater looks like for a 1946 pickup? I just bought yet another '46 and this one has a Ford heater in it. It's square shaped and part of the stamped housing on it is a large Ford oval logo in the front of it. A large part of the heater core is exposed on the front of it and it does have defroster outlets. Is this an original 1946 truck heater, or some kind of official Ford parts heater? Any kind of help is appreciated.
p.s. If anybody has a picture of an original truck heater from this era email me a pic at 46fordtruck@accessarizona.com
Yeah, that does help. Of all the 46-47's I've had none ever had the original Ford heater, only the aftermarket Arvin type. If there is any way you can email me a pic of it I would appreciate it. Thanks for your help.
I have a 47 and I believe its original heater. Its approx 12" square with two upward facing defrost tubes with flapper shut-offs and two doors on face (vertical), with one just below(horizontal) If I can send photo just ask. E-mail at handyman01585(No Email Addresses In Posts!) and leave address I will send attachment. Pete
