There are license plate collectors nationwide..you might do a search online. I have some older CA plates, and I know that plates may have a county/city code or a weight code.
I'm looking to buy a 1955 Florida License Plate and the tag says 27B/B - 1 - See Below.
Any clue what the B/B is? Any clue what any of it means? Its not a normal tag, thats for sure..
Thanks!
Jeff (Young Fart)
Jeff,
It's been awhile but my guess is that the B/B plate was a either a large container truck or truck trailer. I lived in Florida for 50 years. I used to know what county 27 was too but I don't remember now.
It looks like you have a Highlands County Private Trailer tag.
We have a 1941 Fla. tag we're going to try and get registered if we ever get the truck done. It's stored away so I can't get a picture of it, but the main reason I wanted it is because the first few numbers are 4D1. Cute huh.
I was wondering, are you going to try and get the tag registered or just put it on the front of the truck? If you are, since you'll be driving your truck waaaaay before me, I'd like to know how getting the tag registered goes.
Also, if you see an all black F350 4x4 duelly with the front plate "Country Cadillac" down there in Bartow, wave - it's my father-in-law.
At first I was planning on putting it on the front, but once I found out some are registerable, I decided to try it! That is, if I ever find one.. The example I gave was one for sale on eBay, but I'm not going to bid on it since its for a trailer. Plus its Highlands county, who cares about them?
I'm going to try to find a Polk Co. one. I'll let you know how the registration process goes.
I see a lot of country people drivin around down here, but that tag doesn't ring a bell! Does he work anywhere? Retired?
