2x3x3.5 piece of wood between the frame and cab on drivers rear
Just curious if anybody has ever come across a 2x3x3.5 piece of wood wedged between the upper frame rail and the cab on the drivers side of their truck. I am doing a restoration on my 53 F100 and noticed this on the underside of the cab. It was located fairly close to the rear cab mount. Any ideas??
Thanks
Dave
Not a real difficult job. If you have a MidFifty catalog look at the cab supports shown there to get an idea of what you need. Are your floors and the mount connection solid?
I have ran across it before but it was on a 1969 F-250. The chuck of wood was there because the cab mounts were rusted out and the PO wedged the block in there as a quick fix.
That's just a small version of the wood that held up the right rear of my bed. The claw hammer head (handle missing) did the same job on the front of the bed.
