Hey everyone I just bought my first (actually my first truck) 2007 f150 Black Screw 4x4 Lariat and wanted to know whats the best hard cover Tonneau I can buy.
i personally like the Leer 700. I bought one for my o6 SCrew. The first one had a little fitment problem but Leer sent me a new one. It is lined with electric lock and painted medium wedgewood blue to match my truck. I am thoroughly satisfied. The ARE is a good one too but i still like the Leer best. If you're looking to get out a little cheaper go with the.........darn, i can't remember the name...when i do, i'll get back to you! help me out guys!
I've had a Snugtop cover on both an F150 supercab and an F350 SRW crewcab. Have been well pleased with this brand. They are a little heavier than some of the others, but they are built heavier. You could walk on these if you had to. They make several different models. There are also several other good brands that I have not had personal experience with.
I vote for the ARE, but it is definitely a heathly two person job to take it off and on the truck. My previous truck had a Leer and I like the fit and mounting of the ARE better, but you know how opinions are.

Best bang for your buck in a hard Tonneau cover in my opinion is the ARE.
I looked at all of them and decided on the ARE.
I got one with the wing on it, I think it looks very sporty.
I saw the ARE and didn't like the fit AT ALL. the leer looks like it fit nice, but I have a cap on my ranger and it had warantee work... and a post above had problems too... A raider lo rider is what I am going with when I buy. I like the fit and look of theres best so far.
Im stuck between the Leer 700 series and the ARE... however Leer dealers tell me that the CAble lock system they have is superior to the Rod syustem that ARE has.... so i dont know what to get. Leer runs $1020 and ARE runs $850.. I really dont like the look of the ARE... and my dad has one and it doesnt really match the truck paint exactly. THe LoRider isnt availible anywere near Georgia...
Anyone got any feedback on the Cable vs. Rods lock system ??

I have an advanced cover and I'm pretty happy with it. It is very heavy and solid. I think it is very secure and durable. Also looks good on a black truck (see gallery).
