I would definitely change to the 6.5ft bed. The 5.5 is just too small with a box in the back and for most jobs I just need like .5ft more to close the gate. I will choose the 6.5ft on my next truck.
LOL, just peachy huh... I think the Screw with the 5.5 is still a sick *** truck, but with such a long cab, it kind of looks like the bed is just a little too stubby from some angles? Plus ofcourse the benefit of hauling with more room is nice as well.
I would want a longer bed. Then I could get rid of my POS 94' F-150. It's a hard desicion for me, the truck might look weird with a longer bed. But only one more foot probably wouldn't make much difference. I still love the truck though. The Screw actually handles closer to my 02 Lightning than I thought it would. But I don't think I will put my 04' on the track to find out. Not until I put a blower on the motor. Bad comparison, I know. But the 04' handles great. That's all I'm saying.
i'd keep it, i like the shorter wheelbase for a variety of reasons
as for being big enough, unless it's an 8' bed, it's all the same to me because the tailgate has to come down to haul lumber, drywall, osb, etc. on the 6.5' too
...i guess if i had a motorcycle that i carried all the time and it fit in a 6.5' with the tailgate closed, i'd like that, but i still think i'd prefer the shor wheelbase, especially when out at the ranch on trails
I wouldnt trade my 5.5 bed at all. To me the 6.5 looks to long on the SCREW kinda like your hualing a big pencil on the back of your truck, just looks silly.
