I just bought a 51 f1 with a 351w auto. The guy i bought it from put new springs on to lower it. The oil pan now sits on the axel. If i go back to orignal springs will this give me proper clearance on oil pan.How much space should there be between the spring and the stop on the frame. Thanks for the help.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Feb-02 AT 02:39 PM (EST)]Vans from 1975-91 had rear sump oilpans. There are millions of them out there. Be sure to get the oilpump pickup tube that goes with that pan. That is you want the truck to remain low.
