Found a '35,'36, or '37, what's it worth?

Hi, I am usually on the '67-'72 forums because of my '70 I'm doing but I was
driving down a back road and there is a (I think) '35 to '37 by the side of the road for sale! I didn't have a camera with me, nobody was home, and there was
a big dog watching from the front yard so I didn't dare get out for a closer look.
It's sitting on 4 spoked wheels, cab with doors, front fenders, grill, no box, no
hood, and couldn't really tell but I don't think it has an engine. Just a rusty old truck that's never been restored, just parts removed. What do you guys figure
its worth. Maybe this weekend I can get some pics and more info. I'm a sucker
for old Ford trucks, like I need another project!!!
Thanks, Dave

I'll tell ya, I've seen some junk 35/36's go for 2K and up on EBAY, mostly complete though.

The '37 is a bit different looking, 35 and 36 are almost identical though.

Check EBAY listings by year, and you'll get a better idea of the year model, and some prices to compare with.

Thanks Mike, the truck has been there for years by the looks of it, maybe it'll go cheap just to get rid of it.

Dave, as far as identifying the year and you may already know this, the grill bars on the 36's run up and down with a couple of horzintal bars, the 37, 38 and 39's run across with a single vertical bar in the center. This info comes from my green book. There could be some variations. If you can get it cheap. snap it up.

Just joined the group and think this great! I"ve had a 46 PU for I guess about 26 years now. I"ve had problems locating parts till now! Here are two sites I found all the mechanical parts I needed: www.macsautoparts.com www.dennis-carpenter.com
You can order free catalouges. Full of info also as well as parts for old ford tractors.

Here is a pic of my 37 as I found it, and bought it. It is in the very same condition today and I am driving it, after all the mechanical work was done new interior period, nothing fancy, 4 new tires, brakes complete wire harness, plus anything ele it needed.

I have no plans on changing it or paintining it. This in my opinion was a rare find, being totally complete. The 35-36-37 share the same fenders front & rear, running boards with one small item that you probably wouldn't see unless you were looking for it. The bed on the 37 was 4 inches longer than the 35-36, frame and running gear were the same. the hood although 4 piece was different mainl because of the grille on the 37. I will tell you one thing the rear fenders, running boards, and beds are hard to locate, unless your lucky. One other feature the 37 was the first year for the split windshield, and a new grille design exclusive to the 37. Do some investigating into what you need for the truck how complete it is, or believe me your in for one hell of a surprise.
Not trying to discourage you but if it is incomplete and to what extent, do some checking prior to taking the step. If you can buy it as a parts truck and for that price, then thats a different story.
