Question Converting a '63 F100 to a 4x4

Hello,
I would like to convert my '63 F100 to a four wheel drive. I know this is not a small undertaking, but I really would like to do it. Is a late 70's Ford 4x4 the best way to go to get the components I will need?

Thanks, Hank

Rather then take the parts from a '70's era truck, your better off swapping bodies. The turn around time will be 1/4 of what you would put into swapping all those parts and custom making brackets and so on. You will have to make a few mods to the body mounts but that is so much easier to do. Not only that you will be able to drive your truck around until the frame and running gear are rebuilt the way you want them without any issues.

I agree with Mark, it would be much easier to move your sheetmetal over to a 4X4 chassis of your choice.
