Lately if I dont plug in my 7.3 it has been starting hard. I believe I may have a gp issue as I can hear the controller clicking rapidly. Also the wires to the gp's look to be in poor shape. The engine acts like it wants to fire but just wont catch and it billows white/gray smoke. When it finally starts it runs fine, no smoke or lugging. Is my timeing off? I'm guessing I need to check my gp's, I will do that as soon as I can. Is there a wire kit that you can purchase for the GPS? thanks.
Question asked by Thomsen. Is there a wire kit that you can purchase for the GPS? thanks.
Thomsen,
I purchased a wire harness for the glow plugs/glow plug controller a year or so ago through the Ford dealer. Did it for cosmetic, and state of mind reasons. Had to be shipped from a dealer in Michigan to Texas. If I remember right, it was around $70.00 or so?
For what it's worth,
Scott

Reason: Grammer
Hey bud, it would sound like its your GP's cause I just got my truck fixed, and it was a bitch of a time to start in the morning. I had 4 gp's that were toast, so you better get that checked out.
Hey dave, I got Ford glow plugs put in my truck. Are those pretty ****ty too or what?
It starts OK when plugged in and after it has been running and started. It is mainly the first initial start that it is hard starting. After you get it to run and say you shut it off 2 minutes later and try again, it will fire right away. Thanks for the info guys.
