I was just at Pep-Boys and saw the 40 series Flowmaster for $89.99. That is just for the mufler though. No pipes or tips. I paid $225.00 for the 40 series, 3" steal tips, and one piece, welded ( no clamps ) pipes for both sides for my cat back system. As for the edge, I would also but through Bob Jusnes. My only problem is tht I can't decide betweeen the Edge or the CAI. Good luck.
I still would recommend the Magnaflow if you haven't installed the stuff you bought yet. Flowmasters are nice, but they make every single vehicle sound the same. The Volant CAI is nice, but I would go with a tuner first next time in a heartbeat. The transmission needs a little re-tune with the way I drive.
oh yeah, the Magnaflow is a polished stainless steel setup
Well, the piping is not polished, but the tip/s and muffler are polished. The magnaflow is really a great kit, and we try to have the best price on it.
Tylus, I had my Flowmaster installed about 6 months ago and have no regrets at all. Actually my buddie and I believe the rumble is not only louder but the over all sound is better than my buddies 04 f150 with the Magnaflow. The polished pipe does not make a difference to me as long as its stainless steal. The tips are the only thing you see plus I'm not going under the truck to clean the pipes after going to the 4x4 playground.
Did you install the C-Back system or CAI first? I am woundering if you noticed a difference in your trucks performance after installing them in that order?
I did the CAI first. I noticed a difference immediately. The throttle response was greatly improved. Engine noise also noticeably increased...alot. I love the noise, but alot of people won't like the underhood growling.
After I installed the Catback, I also noticed a slightly better throttle response, but not nearly as significant as the CAI. My low end power has also been spiced up with the combo. It is funny than hell to watch some guys face in a Mustang when I step on it. You hear the roar under the hood first, then the exhaust and the tire catch up. Priceless
Cool. I've read that the noise was compaired to the sound of a 4 barrel. If it even sounds close to that then I'm sold. But I'll take your advice on the edge first.
you should get the best of both worlds. supposedly the Edge re-calibrates the throttle for better response and the Transmission stiffness upgrade has got to be nice
Go to Discount pawer parts for your edge. Their is a link to the left. And I got my magnaflow SISO at 4wheel parts for 425. But you have to go to one of their stores for that price.
