The AIS is a good product but it is expensive to replace filters, and from the usage I have had with the same type filter on my 6.0 they won't last anywhere as long as Ford wants folks to believe they will. At 8000 miles is changed mine and got a 2-3 PSI boost increase! Get the AFE Stage II with the Pro Guard 7 filter and you'll have the best there is!! Costs more than a Stage I but flows more and still stops the dirt too. We have a sale on all the Stage I and II's if you decide to go that way.

Maybe something is different with your 6.0L. The AIS in my 7.3L has over 40K miles on it and won't need replacement for some time to come. A filter every 50K or so seems like a small price to pay for the best filtering available.

Hey Dave I don't know other than I replaced the stock on that came in the truck at 8000 miles and the boost gauge went up 2-3 PSI. Then at apporx 5000 more miles I added the AFE Stage I and got an extra 1-2 PSI over that filter as well. Seemed to me that would indicate a restriction etc. Any ideas??

Diesel Power Magazine http://www.dieselpowermag.com/ tested most of the after market intake systems for PSD and found basically no increase in power in any of the systems. Assuming no other changes done ( chip, exhaust, etc. ).
Just an interesting test result.
