I know It's a long way out for some of you, but I can't be the only one within driving distance. Can I?
I won't be taking the 41 this year, but I'm still going to see other peoples rides.
They have a web site in case you haven't heard of it, but I don't know if this site will let me post it. www.newporthillclimb.com
You can search for it if the address gets cut in this message.
I'll be there saturday morning until about 2:00pm, just in case any one wants to harrass, make fun of, or just say hi to me.
I'll be the long haired freaky looking guy in the Rat Fink T-shirt.
There can't be that many people that fit a description like that.
Well Fix, I used to live within 5 miles of Newport, Ind. in Vermillion County and I really enjoyed going to that hillclimb. I worked with a guy that used to build up and run Crosleys up that hill. If you haven't seen it, its worth the trip. Its an amazing thing to watch those Antique vehicles climb. I moved across the state when I retired so I haven't been in a while. I spend most of my time working on my 46 plus many other projects. Hope you have a great time.
Well, you know 46yblock, there may be a lot of fun things going on in the midwest, but it seems that all the neat 42-47 Ford Pickups are all west of the Mississippi especally on the west coast along with all the good salvage yards.
Talking about salvage yards and parts scrounging, my wife and I are going back to the midwest soon, for an extended visit of relatives. I dont know what to do all that time, so have been secretly planning some parts searches. There is a 1946 Ford big truck sitting in Southeast Kansas that I spotted two years ago, and I want to pay it a visit. You know, sight seeing LOL.
