Expedition running like crap in the summer?
Every summer for the last two years, my mom's 2001 Ford Expedition has been running real crappy. It is very sluggish, less responsive and not quick off the line. In the winter it runs fine. It actually runs better than fine. SO why is it running like **** in the summer? Any suggestions to make it run better? Oh yea, its in AZ.

I think there is TSB out on that. It is something with the ECM calibration, which cuts timing/power in hotter conditions or climates. If the truck is still under warranty Id take it in and complain. If its not then youre out of luck i guess.

During the summer the fan clutch is almost always engaged on our expedition. I attribute this to hotter temps and the AC always running. An electric cooling fan wouldn't be a bad idea on these trucks, however its awfully expensive.
