Blown subwoofer/rear nut removal Mach
Does anyone have a good method to remove the rear nut from the subwoofer on my 97 Expedition with the Mach audio system? There seems to be no way to get access back there behind the speaker. The subwoofer is blown and I already ripped out the paper to try and get access, but no luck there. I also tried spinning the sub woofer but it appears the nut is simply spinning along with the woofer..... Thanks in advance,

Luzer27 is correct. There's no way to get to the nut other than pulling the pannel. Wish I had known that before wasting a ton of time trying to remove it from the front! Now you know!

Well, here's what I did! I used a recip saw to cut the damn thing out and in the process put a bunch of small dents in the rear quarter panel of the vehicle(from the inside out, I didn't know the tip of the blade was hitting the panel)! Then I put in the new woofer, and the screw holes didn't match, and then it doesn't sound very good. Next time I take it to the local installer and pay a few extra bucks have it done right, hopefully! But at least I can laugh at myself for the buffoonery.
