Fuel Gauge Problem

I have a 96 F-150 with the 300 six with the duel tanks. When the front tank is selected the fuel gauge is buried way past the full mark regardless of the amount of fuel in the front tank. The rear tank seems to be reading o.k. It sounds like a bad ground??? Anyone else had this type of problem before I start messing with it.

I know on my '76 with dual tanks a dead short to ground will peg the gauge. You may have a bad sending unit or something in the wiring that has shorted.
