Does anyone know if there is a company out there that can supply me with the information to install a newer Super Duty(F450-550) rear axle into a 1995 F350 DRW. My neighbor has a 1995 Crew cab with extended cab from Centurian and has a fifth wheel that grosses over 21k pounds. He says every time he hauls the trailer he ends up with axle seals leaking. He wants to go to something bigger than the 10.25" full floater that he has. Ford only offered this rear axle in this truck in 1995. Thanks for the help.
Good lord, 21k pounds and he's towing it with a one ton pickup? And then wondering why it's breaking?
Swapping rear axles isn't going to help. He needs a truck that's designed to tow that much weight. Nothing else is going to fix the problem.
He's way, way over GVWR and GCWR. He's illegal in all 50 states, and when (not if) he gets into a wreck, his insurance company will probably not cover him.
