Jeep Lug Nut Pattern (Ranger related...)

I have a question. I need new tires. I found a set of Jeep wheels and tires at one of my friend's dad's shop. They're in perfect condition. He drove home from the Jeep dealer (say 5 miles) and removed and replaced them. So it's a brand new Jeep Wrangler I believe. He only wants $350 for them, and that's less than four new decent tires for the Ranger, so I'm going go for them.

Does anybody know the lug nut pattern for the Jeep and if they will fit? Visually it looks perfect, five lug nuts, spacing appears about the same, and it's got a decent size hole in the middle for the axle. I'm guessing nobody has experience putting Jeep tires and wheels on a Ranger, but I was hoping somebody here might have a Jeep.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The lug nut pattern should be the same 4.5" and 5 lug. backspacing/tire size and diameter may be different but are easy to see and measure. Jeep use/may still use ford rear end/axel under some of there vehicles..

Jeep and ford has shared the same bolt pattern for decades, the back spacing would be the issue. Since it's your friend, he should let you put them on your ranger for fit and finish, if everthing works out, then buy them. Zach, are they 15" wheels, or 16"? Either way, better than your 14's.

Jeep/Crysler bolt patterns are usually different along with the others so that this issue puts more money in their pockets.

I'm pretty sure they're 16's Wendell. I got pushed back into getting them Monday (the guy called yesterday before I could go get them and said he wouldn't be there...he thought his supercharger belt was going). So I'll find out then.

sfcwoodret, I'm not so sure. The friend who's dad knows the guy who is selling these drives a Chrysler....ahh I can't remember what it's called. The little car. Sebring, that's it. It's got the same five lug nut pattern that I do, as do these.

I'll keep you updated.

I've allways had jeeps, and fords, swapping wheels was never an issue, can't speak for the newest jeeps, but the older ones were the same. I'm pretty sure there still the same, cause I see alot of older jeeps with newer jeep wheels on them in the offroad mags.

I'm ready to get them already! I should have them home no later than one tommorow, and as soon as I can roll the floor jack under there they're going on. Expect LOTS of new truck pics tommorow, as I need to add tons of stuff.

Shock picturs
Thermo replacement pictures
New wheels/tires
New exhaust
touch ups
CB

dang I've been busy.

Wendell, you say you've had Jeep wheels on Rangers and vice versa, so I got a question for ya. What pressure would you reccommend running the Jeep tires at on a Ranger? Mostly street use.

NEGITIVE, i've never had jeep wheels on a ranger, but I have had them on fords, 77 f-150, and a 70 torino, also had ford wheels on a 75 cj-5. and a 1950 wiil's jeep p/u. I run my ranger tires at 40 pounds, the max is 44, 35 is common, but for the best mpg, I run at 40, 4 pounds under the max. Check on the jeep tire, it will show the max air presure, run around 2-4 pounds under the max for best mpg.

They didn't fit. I went and got P225/70 R14s just like was on there before. Ride is better, seems to hug the road better as well.

The bolt pattern lined up, they would fit in terms of size, but the hole in the center of the wheel was too small for the fronts.

Just get ya a really big holesaw and make the wholes bigger hahaha.

Alright Wendell, you say you had Jeep wheels on a 70 Torino? I wanna see that haha. My dad had a 70 with the 351C/4speed and it looked good, I bet the Jeep wheels would look bad too!
