40-41 and 42-47 122" wheelbase frames

40-41 and 42-47 122" wheelbase frames
Are the 40-41 and 42-47 122" wheelbase frames exactly the same? If so, can the 40-41 3/4 and 1 ton front end sheet metal bolt up to the 42-47 frame and cab without modification? Thanks.

While I have never had the chance to compare them side by side, looking at the Ford Chassis Parts Catalogue (a.k.a. "The Green Bible") I find that there are different part numbers used by Ford for the frame assemblies, and the front crossmembers are different. Appears that some of the middle crossmembers are the same, but the crucial ones for your swap, the fronts are different. I would think getting it attached to the cab is the easier part of the 2, the frame would be more of a challenge.
