86 ranger with EFI taking off on start!
Any thoughts as to what would cause my 86 ranger (6 cyl, 2 wd) to 'take off' when I tried to crank it? I turned to motor off, and now all it will do is click one time. (I checked the charge on the battery and it's fine) Seems like the starter may have stuck..... (It sounded like I was holding the gas to the floor) Thanks

Sounds to me like the starter solenoid is going out and not releasing the starter. You can try jumping it with a wire from the battery to the starter to see if it starts no problems. If so, solenoid is bad.
